Along expected lines the new government has pressed the pedal on pushing Electric Vehicles immediately after being re-elected. Interestingly this government is taking a passive role by relying only upon just the subsidies to do the job. Instead it is taking a proactive and aggressive step to ensure that electric mobility goals are achieved. According to some news channels a draft policy is under preparation whereby staring 2023 registration of all Internal Combustion engine (ICE) based THREE wheelers will be banned. The ban will be extended to TWO wheelers from 2025 onward. Thereafter only Electric vehicles in these categories will be eligible for registration. Already the government has incentivized Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure by its FAME II scheme.
