In December 2018, Delhi Government has released its draft Electric Vehicle Policy. The government has shown tremendous focus in the policy. It has proposed incentives on Two-wheeler, Buses and other vehicles for public transport and even passenger cars. The government has proposed complete waiver of road tax, registration charges and parking fee for electric vehicles. Full cost of charging stations upto a maximum of Rs. 30, 000/= is proposed. Although this would not be sufficient to fully subsidize the cost of an Electric Vehicle Fast Charging station it is still a step in the right direction. The government realizes that ensuring good charging infrastructure is critical for boosting EV population. With this policy the Delhi Government Electric Vehicle policy aims to achieve a 25 percent market share for the Electric Vehicles by 2023.
