In recent times, Maruti has been tight lipped about the progress of its plans on Electric Vehicles. However, now there is good news for Electric Vehicle enthusiasts. Maruti has tied up with the 1st ever Indian manufacturer of Lithium Ion Batteries in India. They shall be sourcing the batteries for the WAGON R Electric Vehicle from TDSG. TDSG is a joint venture for Li-Ion batteries between Toshiba, Denso and Suzuki. The Wagon R is likely to have a range of about 180 kms on a single charge and take up 80% charge within 60 minutes when connected to a DC Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Station.
