The ministry of Urban Development is also taking aggressive approach towards Electric Mobility, in the interest of environment and reducing carbon emissions. It is focusing on providing incentives for public transport vehicles in the country. As a result of this a lot of states and cities have started operations / trials of Electric Buses. The most impressive being the Manali – Rohtang Pass route being operated by Himachal Road Transport Corporation. This is indeed an achievement as Rohtang Pass stands at an altitude of almost 4000 meters. This proves beyond any doubt that Electric Vehicles are (if not better) equivalent to any IC engine vehicle. Most states have provided DC Electric Vehicle Fast charging stations at strategic locations so that these services can run seamlessly without interruption and buses can be charged quickly and put back on the road.
