The government continues to push for electric vehicles incessantly. According to highly placed sources the new plan of the government is to make Electric Vehicle sales compulsory in Metro cities to start with. This is very similar to how the government brings in higher pollution norms. They 1st start in the metro cities before spreading to smaller towns. Regarding the electric vehicle charging infrastructure the government has plans to use the SIXTY thousand odd company run (PSU’s) Petrol stations to build a robust charging infrastructure. It is expected that soon these petrol pumps will have DC Electric Vehicle Fast Charging stations installed at all of them. The attached picture shows one such charging station installed at a Petrol station in South Delhi.
