The March 2019 car sales number of Norway are out and the figures are something that India must aspire to get to. Of the total cars sold in March 2019 in Norway – Pure Electric Vehicles account for an astonishing – 58%, Hybrid vehicles accounted for 19% of total sales. Only 23% of the total car sold were ICE engine fossil fuel based. Interestingly the TESLA 3 model which is a pure Electric vehicle accounted for 31% of the total sales just by itself. It is important to add that the DC electric vehicle fast charging stations infrastructure in Norway is one of the best in the world which greatly helps in consumer confidence. The figures are a revelation of things to come and it is becoming more and more apparent with each passing month in almost all countries across the world that ICE engine vehicles days are numbered. China is the world leader in electric vehicle population and the numbers are only growing. It is almost certain that India will soon be playing catch up and when the momentum turns up, we are certain the rate of change will be nothing short of dramatic.
