The National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020 was established in 2012. Under this plan it was decided to give incentives for Electric Vehicles and Electric Vehicles Charging Infrastructure. Under an incentive scheme called Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles also called “FAME” in short. Different incentive amounts were decided from 2 wheeler to 4 wheeler to buses. These still continue and shortly the government will bring in FAME II which will make some modifications to these incentives.
