Volvo plans to start assembly of its Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle in India by the end of 2019. They plan to start with XC 90 model. Indian is only the third country after Sweden and Malaysia where local assembly is planned. Volvo has decided to phase out ICE vehicles and focus totally on electrification. One hopes that the electric vehicle charging infrastructure which includes DC fast electric vehicle chargers and slow AC chargers are in place by the end of 2019.
